The Coronavirus/COVID-19 appears to be extremely contagious and dangerous to the elderly and people with health issues and compromised immune systems. The population of Warwick and many of our festival attendees would likely be considered high-risk if they contracted the virus. Even though healthy people appear to be at lower risk, they can spread the virus to high-risk people. The National Grits Festival takes the threat to the health and lives of even one person very seriously.
The CDC has recommended no gatherings with 50 people or more. President Trump recommended no gatherings with 10 people or more. Local governments throughout the country and state continue to prohibit large gatherings.
In light of the above and the continued spread of the virus, the National Grits Festival has been canceled for 2020 and will be back on April 10, 2021. All vendors and sponsors who have already paid may roll their money forward until next year or receive a full refund. You may email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com if you'd like but we will be contacting each of you personally.
